Working in the fashion business for most of my life, I noticed that most shoppers are attracted towards organic textiles, like leathers, cashmere and furs. Another cause why I view leather jackets are fashionable is because they can not be completely imitiated. Every leather hide is unique; accordingly every leather apparel will have certain uniqueness. The scars or birthmarks that is on the leather is what makes the apparel special. And perhaps that is the true cause why we like leathers so much, we all desire something that is exclusive for us, so we can be special. As long as that state of mind will keep, I think it is safe to state that leather will be just as fashionable in10 years from now as it is today.
